He ordered off the restaurant week menu, I off the regular menu. My simple salad was good, portion was good. He got the kung pow calamari - it was eh..if you know what I mean. Middle of the road in taste, but the presentation was not there even a little. For dinner I had the shell steak and he had the 'Pork Porterhouse'. The steak was fine but it was a little overcooked. I ordered med rare - why is not so hard!! His Pork was alright. The real problem was that the vegetable were only warm and the potatoes were warm cool and hot all at the same time! Probably just scooped from a pan and not warmed before they plated the dishes. The server honestly looked as if she wanted to be anywhere but there, and offered up no suggestions when we asked. She was kinda slow so we decided to skip desert even though it was included with my bf's dinner. We were surprised because we have heard good things about them. We are not 100% against trying them again , because everyone has an off night, but we wont be rushing as there are better places in town IMHO. I was there with my boyfriend last week. We met a freind at the bar and 10 others were planning on meeting there. The bartendar was soooo rude and nasty ( some guy with dark hair) that all of us cancelled our food order and left the place...the manager was nice enough to inquire but we decided to go to a place we knew we would be treated nicer and visit regluarly. BIg loss for them that night. We said we would never go back but we did. Food was so/so - nothing special - much perfer Nicks, coastal and dukes....We love long beach and the people here and i was stunned how nasty this guy was.....
